Merry Christmas!

Yes, the most wonderful time of the year is finally here. For many of you, that means that - starting tomorrow (okay, or Tuesday, if we are being realistic) - you can relax. All the stress of the holiday season will (hopefully) leave your system, and you will be able to enjoy that mysterious week between Christmas and New Year’s Eve - when the passing of time does not seem to exist.

However, during this time is when some may find themselves stuck on a loop. Holiday leftovers are a plenty, and without obligation or routine - things can start to feel stagnant. This low vibrational feeling can lead to eating more than we feel we have control over - same goes for drinking, too - less movement than we are used to, and forgetting that our bodies need water to exist.

Looking to raise your vibration? I have 1 spot left for energy work mid-week on Wednesday 12/27. Click here to book it!

If you’ve felt the effects of this week before (say, I!) - you are not alone - I am writing from experience! How to break this all consuming holiday habit?

It’s easier than you think - just go back to basics:

Eat as you normally do on the day of your holiday gathering. Set yourself up for stable blood sugar all day long so you don’t crash!

Water, water, water! Dehydration = low energy & low moods.

Move your body! This may be the most important takeaway for the upcoming week. Even if you are staying with family and you are the only one getting up to move - do it. Movement, activity, and exercise are key to keeping you in a great mood. Not to mention that movement helps with regularity. You want to feel lighter and brighter to maximize the good times over the holidays!

A Christmas Cookie Recipe For You!

Raspberry Almond Thumbprint Cookies | Cook Time: 10-12 minutes | Makes ~12 Cookies

Such a classic in my family! This is one of the simplest recipes you can make. If you do not consider yourself to be a baker - then this one is for you. Some cookies come out cute, and some come out sloppy. That’s the nature of baking with jam - you can’t lose! Santa will not be disappointed.

Ingredients:

1 1/2 cups blanched almond flour

1/2 cup almond butter

1/4 cup pure maple syrup

1 tsp baking powder

1 tsp almond extract

1/2 tsp vanilla extract

Fruit-sweetened jam (Dalfour red raspberry is my favorite)

Directions:

Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C)

Combine all ingredients in a mixing bowl (except for the jam) until thoroughly combined

Scoop dough into small balls and place on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper

Press your thumb into the middle of each dough ball, leaving a shallow indentation

Scoop jam into the middle of each cookie - keeping the amount of jam flush to the top of the dough, so that the jam does not bubble over during baking (it might still do that)
